VI-6847

The VI-6847 is a control and indication panel for Fire Detection and Alarm (FD&A) systems, operating on the VSAIL Addressable Protocol. It is configured with a default single loop but can be expanded to four loops by adding the VI-6157 Loop Card. Depending on the wiring method, the panel supports up to 256 devices in Class A configuration and 512 devices in Class B. This is the first FD&A panel globally to feature acrylic material for interactive buttons and zone indications. Equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen, the VI-6847 combines functional excellence with an aesthetically pleasing design. Additionally, the integrated Wi-Fi module allows the system to be configured and monitored via the VSAIL Mobile App.

The VI-6847 meets EN54 standards and is designed to fulfill both general functional requirements and specific customer needs. Unlike traditional panels, which require polling ("round-talk"), this panel allows field devices to report directly to it, enabling the receipt of fire alarms within 0.1 seconds. The panel also includes several output capabilities, such as two conventional sounder circuits, one auxiliary power output, two passive outputs for fire and fault signals, and six programmable I/O circuits that can function as inputs or outputs as needed.

At the core of the VI-6847 is a powerful RISC CPU based on the ARM platform, ensuring high-speed performance, reliability, and low power consumption. The panel has a memory capacity for 10,000 event logs categorized into ten types, including fire, fault, disable, mute, and reset. The hardware employs a modular design, with each board equipped with its own CPU, ensuring that damage to one board does not compromise the functionality of others. The panel also features robust protection against short circuits in loops or power lines, surge interruptions, lightning strikes, and transient impulses. Its unique design ensures immunity to earth faults.

The VI-6847 can connect to a computer through its CANBus port for traditional programming and commissioning. Alternatively, configurations can be completed via the Mobile App or by uploading program files created on a PC through a USB plug-in or SD card. If internet access is available, the panel can be fully configured, tested, updated, and controlled remotely, even from across the globe. The panel also supports a True Peer-to-Peer Network of up to 128 interconnected panels, allowing system-wide cross-viewing and operations from any panel. In the event of system paralysis on one panel, all settings and messages can be transferred seamlessly to another panel in the network. Utilizing the CANBus protocol, this network is reliable and extendable up to 10 kilometers.

The VI-6847 serves as the central "brain" of an addressable system, receiving messages from field devices, processing them via its "Cause & Effect" programming, and issuing commands to activate connected devices and equipment. This advanced functionality makes it a powerful and efficient solution for modern fire detection and alarm systems.
